Recover Faces doesn't work, and removes noise cancelling as well

I’m using Remove Noise and Recover Faces on a series of photos featuring people in factory settings. Noise removal works fine, but if I switch on Recover Faces (with one or more faces identified and selected), the noise removal disappears and, after a few seconds, the progress meter shows ‘Idle’. (Progress shows ‘Initialising Face Recovery’ then ‘Recovering Faces’ for a few seconds before showing ‘Idle’)

Changing the strength of Recover Faces doesn’t prompt any action/recalculation. Turning off Recover Faces reinstates the noise removal and updates the preview.

Turning off Remove Noise and then turning on Recover Faces does nothing – Recover Faces still sits idle.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Open image in Photo AI (from Capture One Pro)
  2. Turn on Recover Faces

@david-337927 Thanks for reaching out.

There may have been a conflict with the Mac system permissions during installation or update that caused some model files to be missing.

Please follow the instructions below to fix this.

  1. Get a new installer from the downloads page directly. Download
  2. In MacOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, enable full disk access for Installer if it is not enabled already.
  3. Then, go to Privacy & Security > Files and Folders, enable the Downloads folder for Installer.
  4. Run the installer.

Let me know if that works.

Thanks, downloading the new installer did the trick. I wasn’t able to work out how to add the Installer to the Privacy & Security settings (dragging the package onto those areas didn’t add them), however the new install is working properly anyway.
