Recommended Settings for Frame Rate Conversion

Can anyone suggest general settings for converting a 480p/1080p file 24fps to 1080p 29.97? I’m not getting great results on converting music videos (and the 1080p files are taking almost 2 hours to convert).

Avisynth, but I’m not a script gay. Avidemux built in filter “Resample” adds copied frames (or drop frames) to match new entered fps, while video lenght keeps the same (audio still fits) Avidemux - Downloads

Chronos is your best bet.

It is slow, but the results worth the wait.

what i posted above is telecine, no frame Interpolation! Sure when you like interpolate, use Topaz

I convert my dvd vob files, which are interlaced to progressive, using shutter encoder. Then upscale them in topaz.

Hello Urix and sorry to jump in, I am hesitating between Apollo and Chronos for a fps 16 –> fps 30 conversion. You said Chronos is our best bet for general frame interpolation, but why does the interface automatically toggle Apollo when you activate the frame interpolation menu? Is Apollo only for slow motion ?

I think because Topaz just made their newest one to the default, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the best. I find it quite confusing with the variety of models, it would be better if topaz had concentrated on one and optimized it + equipped it with all settings to be able to map all situations
