Reboot When Using Iris

I’m having an issue when using the Iris model, it will get a ways into it (how far depends on the source I think) and then the machine will reboot. There are no errors or blue screens, it just reboots.

The Topaz log doesn’t shed any light on any of this.

I’ve done several upscales with the Proteus model without issue.

Software: Video AI v6.2.0 (When I updated from 5.x to 6.x, I wiped the model folder entirely to ensure it got fresh data.)

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit
CPU: Intel Xeon CPU E5-1650 v3
RAM: 32GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Driver 576.02 Studio)

I’m kind of hoping somewhere here can go “oh, check X and Y” because without any errors it’s really hard to troubleshoot.

With an 11 year old CPU and 9 year old GPU I’d say it’d too much for your system.
I suggest either post the Topaz logs or use windows Event Viewer to find the cause.

If it didn’t work fine with Proteus I’d say that’s a good argument.
The machine was spec’d around VIdeo Enhance AI which ended with 2.6.4 before becoming the ffmpeg based Video AI of today.

UPDATE: I added logging (redirecting ffmpeg’s stdout and stderr to a file) to my batch script that runs the Video AI ffmpeg jobs to try to get a feel for where the reboot is occurring, to my surprise it properly upscaled two films using Iris without issue.

If you are still seeing issues can you pull the system profile report and the logs and send to the support team? There might be some error codes that we can check in the dxdiag. help@topazlabs.com

How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Here is a video to help with the steps of how to collect the logs.
