Raw files, Topaz and Lightroom

So I’m a brand new Topaz Denoise AI user. The articles I’m reading say that the workflow should be first Topaz and then Lightroom. I understand that when I manipulate a raw image in Topaz I need to save it in another format like TIFF. Which means that when I bring that image back into Lightroom it is not Raw. Won’t this impact the rest of my Lightroom post processing, not being Raw?

What am I not getting?

On the forum I see many posts about DeNoise AI not producing expected results. And these can range from inconsistent noise reduction across an image to no apparent noise reduction or even different results using different processing methods such as GPU or CPU/OpenVINO.
