On my MacBook Pro M1 with 16 GB RAM the RAM is running out of space when Photo AI is calculating many photos with Autopilot settings.
Photo AI is the only started software aside the Finder.
Today I have 266 Pictures from the Soccer game Netherlands vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina and want to optimize the RAW-Files from my Canon 1DX Mark II (20.1 MPixel).

I have almost the same set-up (Mac Mini M1, 16gb) , but have not tried running multiple files on Autopilot. I will give it a go later and get back to you.
Memory leakage was an issue during beta testing, but I thought it had been substantially fixed.
However, I tried running 320+ images through autopilot and the memory gave out after less than 50 had been processed. I have the processor set to Auto in Preferences, so it might work better if it’s reset to CPU, albeit with a big slowdown in processing speed. Worth a try.
Otherwise, it looks as though the only solution is to run batches of fewer than 50 files at a time.
Disable any antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy software that might be active on your computer. These tools sometimes interfere with the installer’s ability to download the model files.
Ensure that the Topaz Photo AI installer has all the proper settings in your system by going to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security tab and scrolling down to the security section. You will want to make sure you have ‘App Store and identified developers’ selected | MacOS | Example of Proper System Preferences
