I have been using video stabilization for a while now, and while the full frame mode is excellent, it does damage original detail more than I am comfortable with and also takes ridiculous amounts of time to process.
Then we have Auto-Crop which is better in both regards, running much, much faster and preserving original detail, but the problem is, it crops.
Could we for goodness sake have a mode where it stabilizes the video just like Auto-Crop, but without cropping? Just keep the video centered and don’t mind the black edges coming into view. This could be called “Stabilize only”.
This can come in handy for many reasons. In my case the way I letterbox and compose my videos deals with black edges and without the auto-crop’s overly aggressive crop, I can handle the edges myself and not lose so much detail like the Full Frame does. This could also come in handy as a preview version of Full Frame, where creators could use this format to get an idea of how their stabilized version will look like without having the image scale completely altered like the auto-crop does.
Feels like such a feature would not be far from existence. Maybe there is even an existing parameter I can try in the output command? (I have found the scale parameter but that’s not what I want to do)
