small request / comment : when zooming on the preview, if we switch to a second preview of the same video but with a different setting/model, like first one with artemis low, and second one was artemis high, the zoom go back to 100% 1:1 when switching from preview one to two , making it impossible to compare the two preview.
if we stay at 100% of zoom, it’s working great, so i think this feature is there for this. to be able to switch different preview and see the difference between different settings, so maybe it would be good (if not planned) to allow to block or keep the zoom setting when moving from one preview to an another one, when different previews are made from the same video source.
why when playing the preview, it start with picture not smooth , like it’s playing with maybe a 50% speed and then, play at the normal speed ? is it done on purpose ?
issue with Preview with proteus. same video is working ok on artemis. there is a sync issue in the preview, the result is not the same as the source while playing back the video. don’'t know if it’s the issue told in the comment as “cause problems with seeking/preview please submit them through the dropbox.” so i send the video in “case” to dropbox.
.31a looks nice, but right off the bat I found a glitch. I picked a place on the timeline and did a preview. -It Worked- It would not run preview again, until I changed a setting (in Proteus.) I moved the pointer on timeline to a different place so I could see how those same settings looked there, but Preview wouldn’t run. I changed a (Proteus) setting slightly and the timeline reset. I moved my timeline pointer and Preview ran.
To be brief, it obviously makes little sense to rerun a preview with exactly the same settings from the same starting point on the timeline. However, if a settings change is made previewing from the same point makes sense. It should also be possible to move the timeline point to a new start position and render a preview with the previous settings and I don’t think it can be done.
Part of what I said above is a perceptual illusion because the timeline pointer can only be moved on the source timeline. After a preview rendering is completed, the timeline shown appears to be the Preview timeline. It would be helpful to ‘hint’ at the change by changing the preview timeline’s background color to be different than the source’s color.
And there is no actual need to change a filter setting, in order to rerender a preview in the same spot. All that is necessary is to click the mouse pointer anywhere inside the filters column, including the margins.
I love the new GUI scheme, but it needs to be a bit friendlier here and there
Can’t get anything to work, ffmpeg crashes every time on preview or export with:

The preview causes headache and motion sickness to me because I have no option to just preview the single frame shown but to generate an endless repeating thing where in the first place I have to stop it not to suffer from eye issues and headache soon and in the second place to be able to have a closer look into the details I get with my settings which is impossible in motion! this version also does not take into account the Windows scaling (?) so at Windows scaling 200 % I would have to set my preview to 50 % to see it right which is very tricky or close to impossible in the current version where I can only choose between “fit”,“1:1” and “1:2”.
The preview is confusing. In VEAI 2.X the preview shows what the app is working on as it progresses. In VEAI 3.X, it seems to be showing a select few frames in loop. Prefer the 2.X preview format.
The current Alpha/beta version preferences aren’t fully connected to the actual functions they should be controlling. Personally,I found this to be true of the Export As display. My prefs are set to .mp4 but the export filename line will still get a .mov extension tacked on unless you actually specify “Filename.mp4” on the File Name line.
Windows scaling is always a bad idea. The real problem is your screen is too small for the resolution you paid for. Dot-pitch / pixel size is the key when looking at a monitor size, yes, even for a laptop. I have 32" monitors 2560x1440. I could easily have gotten 4K monitors, but the dot pitch is too small for my eyes on them, so I got the monitors that fit perfectly.
I need the large monitor because on a small one even with a high resolution I can’t read anything! I have a Lenobo laptop 14 inch with 2880 x 1600 pixels. Nice pixel density but too small for my eyes! So I got an 48 inch oled monitor with 4 k where everything is large enough when I set the Windows scaling to 200 %!
