Once again, we have another prototype of the Video AI 3.0 GUI available for download. We’ve made more improvements to the video playback, and an additional set of UI changes!
Set the models folder to a new location. Copied the models there. No problem. Deleted the models from the old, original location. At next startup, the software put them back. The preferences still point to the new location, but the software won’t allow them to be deleted from the old.
When previewing side by side, the original does not play until the end of the loop and then catches up very quickly. It does this on each loop. I’ve tried multiple videos, same result.
Haven’t tried the prototype in a bit so figured i’d have at this release.
As stated by someone earlier, the playback is janky as hell & why does it not flush the previews in temp folder after you delete them or close the program…mainly the latter. There’s no reason a bunch of 2sec .mov files need to stay once it’s closed.
I rarely restart my pc & i can see those building up real quick. A good home needs to be built on a good foundation, but hey you changed the interface a bit…so i guess that’s a thing.
Fantastic update, it fixed many issues I had with the application! However, the issue with the progress bar sometimes not working is still present on my machine. It’s weird really, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Most of the time it doesn’t, any idea how this can be resolved?
EDIT: It seems this issue is only present when I’m upscaling a MPG/MKV video, MP4 ones seem to work fine with the progress bar for some reason.
Lee - did you try deleting the files from the old location while having the app completely closed? If yes, could you send me a screenshot of whatever error you receive when it doesn’t let you delete the json files in the old location?

Hi Tom - the progress bar currently has such issues. It’s on our roadmap to fix. The progress bar sometimes doesn’t work, the ETA may not work…etc all of these should be fixed at some point. Can I ask you to send me one or some of your MPG & MKV videos just to make sure there isn’t something else we aren’t aware of? You can submit the files through: Submit File to Dropbox.. Hi, submited “Rimas_Proteus0.2s_preview_fails.7z” to dropbox. Included Artemis preview is fine, proteus failed to save information in a video file. 0.5s preview works. Tested on the latest [Prototype GUI 3.0.0.27a]. Fails with any file actually. This is the short one, easy to test.
There is no error. I can delete them. When I launch the application again, the installer runs and puts them back before launching. I’m guessing they are set in the installer as a prerequisite in that specific location.
