Misc. bugfixes
Known Issues
Some videos may fail on M1 Macs if only the Slow-Mo Filter is enabled
Window controls may disappear when leaving fullscreen mode (Mac)
Just downloaded and testing on Mac Studio M1 Max. Few questions:
I have to say I jump immediately to settings because of past experience. still presets are good for new users
using Artemis Denise sharper, there is still no progress bar or %, stuck at 1%, although I know it’s doing something
I haven’t testing de-interlace, how does it work now? will it run Dione, then another model to enhance? I have a few videos where 2.6.x struggled I want to try again
it took me a little while to find out I could click on the (0/1) to see the progress of the export, could it be more intuitive, say you add a text “Running” or “In progress”…?
as I am enhancing a video I still have preview not available…
Thanks for pushing the new GUI, it is much cleaner than v2.6…
Preview is a hot mess now. Not synced with the original. The original distorts, pixelates. The preview doesn’t start when you click it, it takes several seconds to start playing. The preview used to loop, now it stops after a single play. MAJOR STEP BACKWARDS.
As reported at the time of GUI 3.0.0.22a, the color space continues to be incorrect.
Original (BT.709) → VEAI → Converted (BT.470 B/G?)
When the converted and original were displayed side by side in TMPGEnc, the color difference was confirmed.
When the converted image was loaded as BT.470 B/G, the color difference disappeared.
Open a video file was successful in the first attempt.
I miss the option to save to .jpg images.
I don’t see the preview during processing?
Can not preview a single frame**
The output view does not take into account the Windows scaling*
The GPU usage of my 2070 super with 60 % is a bit low still
(*) I set my Windows scaling to 200 %. To get the correct 100 % view in the application I have to set it manually to 50 % because the application does not take into account the Windows scaling yet.
(**) My personal workflow is to only preview ONE image at a time by looking into various parts of a video. While this was not comfortable in the 2.x versions because I had to enter the preview for a single frame and leave it to choose the next one instead of being able to just click into the time line to get the preview of another frame, in the alpha 3 I dunno yet how to preview a single frame of a video at all after choosing my settings.
Yeah I still see my CPU usage being high and GPU is low but I have a 4 core cpu and much newer GPU so I cannot tell how much it is an optimization issue vs a personal issue…
Lee - thanks for the info. We’re still having an issue using the video you sent me in the previous alpha. We believe we know what’s going on but we still need some time to investigate and narrow it down. Do you know if the other videos you’re testing the alpha with are to the one you sent me before in terms of format, b-frames…etc? If you could send me more videos you’re running into issues with, I’d appreciate it. Submit File to Dropbox.
Please send me a note here if you’ve sent me the files. Thanks, Lee.
Can you please send me a file you had the crash with and your crash logs from the same timestamp of the crash? You can get the logs by opening the software and going to Help > Logging > Open Log Folder. You can send the files through: Submit File to Dropbox.
Please let me know once you’ve sent me the files. Thank you!
We should be able to find that out from your log files. If you can send me a screenshot of the CPU & GPU usage while processing to the same Dropbox I shared with you earlier, that’d be great.
Thanks for sending in the log file. We’re looking into it. In the meantime, could you check if you will have the same issue with other clips? If you only run into the crash with that specific clip, please let me know and send me the video through: You can securely submit the files through: Submit File to Dropbox.
