Program does not comform with Windows standard behavior

Topaz Photo AI on Windows 11 does not behave as other Windows programs, not even Topaz Gigapixel, DeNoise or Sharpen.

I normally maximize the program and when I move the pointer to the upper or lower end, I get the possibility to resize the window. This has been somewhat annoying since I quite often find myself decreasing the size of the window by mistake.

But what is worse is that I cannot activate the taskbar (which I normally hide to maximize the area of the application that I want to use) if I would like to switch program (Alt-Tab works of course).

Another, somewhat more difficult to replicate, is the fact that Photo AI “disappears” when I switch between programs, so I have to restart Photo AI to be able to use it again. It is visible in the Taskbar, but it does not show when I click on it.

I have tried to use Alt-Tab and then Alt-Space followed by Move to be able to move it with the keyboard in case the window has moved off-screen, but I cannot get it to show again

Hello, you could try WindowsKey-LeftArrow or WindowsKey-RightArrow when the program is active, that should move the application to the other screen.

Actually Windows-Left/right-arrow did not help once it happened again that the window disappeared (this time after I minimized once, but I could not repeat it easily after I restarted it)

I made a task for my team to fix the taskbar not appearing when hovering.

For the resizing, what is the behavior that you want? If you go to any edge, it’s expected that you can resize the application window.

The disappearing issue sounds like Topaz Photo AI is moving offscreen and is not accessible for some reason. Do you have multiple screens on your computer that you connect and disconnect?

Yes, resize is the default behavior when it is not maximized, but once it is maximized, it basically should not do anything (normal Windows behavior)

Thanks for the clarification. I made a task for my team to do this.
