Processed photo fails to save back to Apple Photos

I open a photo in Apple photos and click edit and choose Topaz Photo.
I make the required edits and click the Save to Apple Photos button.
The photo processed and then I get the error that says “Unable to Save changes for “Edit in Topaz Photo AI””

Topaz Photo AI [v2.2.2] on macOS Sonoma 14.2.1

I get the same unable to save changes problem trying to save back to Apple Photos with the latest version of Topaz Photo AI (2.3.0), but only when editing portrait orientation photos. I have no problem with any landscape orientation photos.

Ive noted your issue with our dev team! Thanks for bringing it to our attention

They should know about it since a long time now.

See my (and others) bug-reports about this.

Oh, and @daniel.frye @edward.kiledjian
There’s an ugly workaround:
Just crop the image a tiny bit/by a few pixels in Apple Photos before sending it to TPAI - after that it’ll work also for portrait oriented photos.

Just out of curiosity, I checked out whether the problem was fixed for me with the new v2.3.1 update. It was definitely not. On top of that, it apparently has decided to stop automatically detecting faces and “recovering” them with this latest update, though it does still do the face detection and recovery if the option is manually selected.
