In the new release, All the Previews are overwriting each other, and also overwriting previous Exports.
Can confirm this is still happening as of 4.0.4.
Steps to reproduce: Export a video, then change any setting that does not change the export engine (E.g, if this was exported with gaia, just add 1 noise) and then preview that. This will overwrite the exported video.
Confirming that this is happening as of 4.04
To Repro:
- Create an Export and let it finish
- Create a Preview
The Preview overwrites the Export.
I’ve been having this same issue, banging my head against the monitor as well. I created a post that wasn’t so specific in it’s problem tracing - I wasn’t certain what the underlying cause was - but kept noticing my master files were being chopped into short, unusable clips - adding hours onto my day & frustration chasing down which clips had newly been hacked. I’ve never had a piece of software destruct an existing file - this is a new one. Editing has been called non-destructive editing since the late 90’s. For such an expensive program, I’m quite disappointed in the general lack of refinement, stability, usability - as a professional program needs to be.
I exported my file, but than i wanted to use a different model, and when i had it set, i used the preview option and opened the preview from it’s preview location on my pc, and it went to the previously exported file. I previewed the model again, and it was overwriting the previous exported one! And when i closed the input file, instead of removing the preview file, it removed the exported file!
