Needed quick preview of adjustments. It takes ages on 16GB RAM

What GPU VRAM, do you have?

Is PAI using your GPU?

Hello
Thanks so much for your quick contact.
As I am not IT guy, your questions are too specilized for me to be able to answer.
But I will describe what I have

It is quite old PC.

  • Windows 10 x64

  • Intel(R) Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz

  • ASUS P8P67LE rev.3.0 motherboard

  • RAM 16GB 1333 MHz (2x4 Kingstone plus 2x4 Corsair)

  • Graphic card - NVIDIA Quadro 600

  • Photoshop 6 onboard

Processing for RAW or DNG (about 30GB) takes ages (sharpening+ noise reduction+ brightnes)
RAM is working in peak arround 11-12GB but usually arround 8GB

When I have compared with similar (but more modern) friend laptop my setup is much slower.

Please suggest what, I can do to make it better, please.

is More RAM helpful ?. That I can do myself.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My Best Regards
Slawomir Kania

I had similar problems with my old computer. AI software uses a lot of memory.

Changing the graphics card will help, something like Nvidia RTX 3060 with 12 gb of VRAM or RTX 4060 8gb, which is what I use now.

Graphics cards are expensive, I paid nearly £300 for mine.

But you may need to upgrade the power supply. I was advised that RAM on the CPU would not make much difference, you need it on the graphics card (gpu). My new computer which has same RAM on CPU, as the old one, it so much faster, with 8gb VRAM v 2gb.

It maybe better to just get a new computer.
