Add two identical effects with different settings, in my case it is a denoise, and save in the preset. Then load the preset, and it turns out that the they are loaded with the same settings.
I also checked inside the preset file and found out that if we add the effect through the icon +, then the name is given same (Denoise, Denoise). although I thought it was the cause of the problem, but it turned out that it not…
because if we choose to “duplicate” the effect, then it is recorded under another figure (Denoise, Denoise2), and it not helps
Would you mind taking a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening? This will give us the best understanding of the workflow you are using so I can share this information with some of the developers to investigate.
I would like to see your exact workflow while using Presets, as this will help us troubleshoot the problem you are reporting. From the information you provided in your initial response, I am unsure of how you are implementing and creating presets. A screen recording will give us the best point to start so I can replicate this exact behavior on my machine.
@john.topazlabs I don’t understand why you try to complicate what is elementary? What does it mean “how do you creating presets”? I said I have no special workflow, here is only one button to save the preset. Oh God, this is only one easy action, to shoot and upl a video is much more difficult than reproduce this bug, it looks so that you are mocking me… As I already ask - tell me specifically what you can’t do?
Just create two of any identical effects with different settings! For example, denoise. thats all! This is elementary.
You can add another fx, such as a sharp and denoise. You can change them places, it does not matter…
I can spend time on video, but if you specifically describe what you did not succeed in this simple action…
My apologies for not understanding your initial report, I have been able to replicate this behavior and have reported this to the developers to further investigate.
I’ll be sure to reach out to you on this forum thread once we have more information about when we can resolve this issue.
Thanks for your patience and I hope you have a great rest of your week
Still “Investigating” for two months?.. very bad…
“This topic will automatically close in 11 days.”
it just looks like it’s being closed in the trash… this is not a bug that takes so long to solve.
I like to use two stacked passes of the Denoise enhancement; one that applies a strong denoise effect on the background, a second that applies a weaker denoise effect on the subject (with additional anti-blur and original detail). When I save this setup as a preset and then attempt to apply it in subsequent images, PhotoAI will load both Denoise layers as background-only. When you attempt to change one to subject-only, it changes the other. I’d like to be able to quickly apply this two-pass set of denoise enhancements quickly and this bug prevents that.
Steps to reproduce issue:
Step 1: Add a background denoise enhancement and then add a second denoise layer with ‘subject’ or ‘all’ option.
Step 2: Save it as a preset. Close PhotoAI and reopen.
Step 3: Attempt to apply this preset to another photo (I do non-RAW images only). Both layers will appear as “Denoise: Background” and when you attempt to change one to something else, the other will change as well.
It seems the only way to get the desired two-layer denoise effect is manually right now?
In this video you can see I have created a preset with two denoise layers, one that applies to the background, another for the subject.
When I save that preset and attempt to apply it to another image, the “subject” denoise is applied, but the other denoise enhancement has changed to “all” when it should have been for the “background”.
I’ve experienced other strange behavior after applying presets like this, such as when attempting to change the incorrect denoise layer’s auto selection, it also then changes the other denoise layer as well.
