I use Photo AI frequently to upscale art images of varying styles. I frequently run into an issue where I have an image that is intentionally grainy or having detailed canvas-like texture. Maybe the intent is a vintage photograph or a digital scan of oil on canvas.
I can’t find a great upscale setting that preserves the texture, it either gets smoothed out (Low Resolution and Graphics settings) or adulterated into non-aesthetic patchy textures (Standard and High Resolution) even with Minor Denoise set to minimum.
I also checked in GigaPixel (which I don’t frequently use) and didn’t find the Art/CG setting to offer and particular advantages here.
