Photo AI v1.3.7 "Could not run model"

Since updated to Version 1.3.7 PhotoAI is nearly unusable for me, as for most photos error message: “Could not run model” appears at the scanning process for denoise operation. Processing does not work either. Even a clean install does not solve this problem.
(Core™ i5-9600K, NVidia RTX2700, 32GB RAM)

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. load photo (drag and drop)
  2. scanning process starts. when scanning for noise error message appears
  3. no processing possible (same error mesage in red)

Topaz Photo AI [v1.3.7] on [Windows 11]

Addition: Found out that error message appears only when AI Processor is set to “AUTO” or “NVidia GPU”. When set to CPU PhotoAI works fine for me.

I am also having the same problem with this update.

Processor: Intel (R) Core ™ i7-1050Hh CPU @ 2.6GHz
RAM: 64 GB

Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

Thank you! That helped.

If you look in the log, you will see something like this:

They linked against a higher version of the cuBLAS dll than the version they are distributing.

Hi everyone,

This is an issue with the models we made for the NVIDIA 20 series graphics card.We will be fixing the models in the update coming next Thursday. For now, you can do the following:

  • avoid using the Remove Noise - Normal v2 model
  • roll back to v1.3.6
  1. Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall Topaz Photo AI.
  2. Delete the registry files for Topaz Photo AI using instructions here.
  3. Download the Windows installer for the previous version of Topaz Photo AI here. Make sure Lightroom Classic and Photoshop are closed during this step.Let me know if you have any questions about this.

[Please describe your issue here. Try to include logs (Help → Logging) and add screenshots if necessary.]
today I been working with some pictures. not problem at all , than a couple hours ago I noticed that there was an update to topaz photo AI to version 1.3.7 so I did the update. (note the program had been working not issues until I make the update) after the update I been having this error “could not run model” so i close lightroom and topaz photo AI and restart my computer. and try again and I get the same problem so I uninstall topaz photo AI and download the installer from you page and reinstall it and I still having the issue, can’t edit any pictures on topaz photo AI version 1.3.7 Mi pc runs on windows 11 22h2 with 32 gb is up to date, my video card is a nvidia gforce 2060 with 6 gb also up to date on the drives.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3

Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]

Same here if I try to run Remove Noise Normal v2 or Strong v2 using the GPU.

Win 11
RTX 2070 Super with 531.68 Drivers
Ryzen 7 3700X

They do work when using the CPU only.

p.s.
Updated from 531.68 Nvidia driver to today’s hot fix 536.09 without resolving the issue.

Latest update (1.3.7) Remove Noise Normal V2 gets “Could not run model”.

There is a fix for the Turing cards, but they only got through a first pass of testing it right at closing time on Friday. They should be able to get it formalized next week.

There was an issue with the model files for the NVIDIA 20 series graphics cards.

We added a potential fix for this issue. Could you run the Topaz Photo AI installer for v1.3.7 again and either install or repair the application? You can get another installer from the downloads page:
https://topazlabs.com/downloads/

Let me know if the Remove Noise - Normal v2 model is working after doing this.
