Photo AI doesn’t seem to work in Photoshop any longer. It used to be found under the Filter menu and then the File/Automate menu. Now when I select Photo AI under the Automate it just opens a layer called TPAI Layer and does nothing. If I select Photo AI under Automate again it will run Photo AI but on an empty layer, yes the layer TPAI Layer. I don’t know what’s going on here. Please help.
Hello @james.mcdonnell
Seeing we resolved this in your email thread you sent in, I will close this!
Anyone else having issues, the resolution here was that James was opening the file as a Smart Object, which is not supported in Photo AI. The solution is to keep the file to it’s normal state. Addtionally, since James edits RAW files, the better workflow is to import the RAW files directly in Photo AI, export to DNG and then import those DNGs in Photoshop. This way, he will get access to RAW denoise, which is crucial. He will also retain RAW capabilities. Using the Photoshop plugin will revoke RAW capabilities and not give access to RAW Denoise.
