In Photo AI 3, if I apply any enhancements other than what Photo AI does automatically on open (RAW Denoise) then the file is exported back to Lightroom as a TIFF, not a DNG. This makes Photo AI nearly unusable from Lightroom. My–and I believe the correct–workflow, is to first process the RAW (.NEF) file in Photo AI, then export back to Lightroom, then apply Lightroom enhancements. But those are best done on a RAW file, not a TIFF. It does not work to first apply Lightroom enhancements then process in Photo AI because doing so locks in the Lightroom adjustments, essentially making them destructive
Is there some way I should have know this other than trial and error?
I’m sure this will be fixed in the future. I don’t see any reason that adjusting light or color should disable RAW.
Either way, no big loss. Sharpen, Denise, and Upscale are what Topaz does best. I’d rather just keep color and lighting in the Lightroom domain anyway.
