PHOTO AI Memory allocation issues

64gb of DDR4, and when Photo A.I. doesn’t reboot itself, or flat out crash, then it gives me this message. This occurs after a dozen or so edits, individually. Though I haven’t identified any consistency. Having programmed 3D in the past, my guess is that Photo A.I. is not freeing the memory once a photo is exported.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1 went through approximately 12 images, 1 at a time. This happens because PHOTO A.I. does not free the ram once the photo is exported.
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3

I’d like to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.

Could you send us your computer’s full system profile?

Also if you can, please try to recreate this crash in Topaz Photo AI, then go to Help > Open Log Folder, please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.

If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

Topaz AI seems to have memory trap issue. The longer it was running the slower the execution or the finish of jobs.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3

that is correct. In fact, I can load up an image, and see the memory allocation occur, but then PHOTO AI does not release the memory once the image is exported and deleted. Sounds like you need to fire your microsoft Devs  With 64gb of RAM, Photo AI allocates 5 or 6%, then fails to release it. This adds up pretty quick, and typically results in a flat out crash to reboot for photo AI. Occasionally it stalls long enough to pop up an error indicating lack of sufficient memory. Close and roobt Photo AI is the only fix. So you must close and reboot every 12-20 edits.

Just letting you know. I am well aware that this is a known issue. I paid $200 for this software, and I will not be spending a half an hour plus necessary to recreate the issue. Time is money. If you want beta testers, then you should put the product through a beta testing process, like all other software manufacturers, rather than making promises and forcing your customers to spend time fixing your shortcomings.
