I’ve bought the latest Photo AI hoping it would be better than previous version for denoising high ISO images, but I was wrong. I’m a bird photographer and sometimes I use very high ISO (12800 and 25600 sometimes) and Photo AI is the weakest denoise tool in these circumstances. ADOBE Denoise and DXO Pure Raw are light years ahead. Photo AI is the only one that gives hotspots and very blotchy background. You can tweak it to improve things a little, but the other two produce better results at their default settings. I do hope you can refine and improve your software. On the other hand, the sharpening is Ok, but not really much better than the Sharpening stand-alone that I still use. Right now, I don’t see any reason to use PAI if we have better options out there. Come on guys…you already know this.
To investigate the denoising issue and understand your experience better, could you provide:
- Examples of the original and processed images, along with the settings used.
- A screenshot showing the hotspots and blotchy background.
