Photo AI crashes randomly when using Nvidia card

The Topaz Photo AI app crashes at random. During either refining, or actual processing, whenever I’m using the Nvidia graphics card, the App just closes and all work gets lost - I must start over.

I found that using the Intel on-board card prevents it from crashing… but honestly, that’s annoying. I’m using this on a Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio with an Intel i7 11th Gen with an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti. Here’s a DxDiag extract with further details:

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Import any number of Photos into Photo AI (could be 1, 2 or 10, or more)
  2. Start refining photos (add/remove sharpening, noise reduction, etc) - sometimes here App will close while editing.
  3. Start saving photos - App will close/crash at random points in time.

Specific photos don’t yield the same results.

Here are some of the logs from the App. There doesn’t seem to be any exception or errors thrown… it just stops

There are more, but the forum won’t let me upload more than 2(!?)

Thanks for sending the system profile and logs. Please open Topaz Photo AI and go to the Edit > Preferences > AI Processor menu. In the dropdown menu, select the NVIDIA graphics card directly and process an image like that.

Let me know if Topaz Photo AI still crashes. If it does, please send the log files and the crashpad zip (instructions to find that here) to my Dropbox.

You can securely submit your image(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.
