Dragged 87 DNG files exported from Lightroom (Creative Cloud) to my Topaz Photo AI pane
Launched batch processing
Found that some images output from Topaz were cropped very differently (vertical approximately 1 x 3; see _G7X9445-topaz-denoiseraw.dng) from the input DNG files (see _G7X9445.dng (19.9 MB)
horizontal 11 x 14, cropped from an original vertical 2 x 3 CR3 raw file).
Found that other images output from Topaz were full-frame, eliminating the crop that I had applied before creating the input file _G7X9445-topaz-denoiseraw.dng (52.7 MB)
Also, if I drag just that one input image from the file system into Photo AI, the crop is unexpectedly altered as described in the first post
By contrast, when I edit the same input file in Photoshop and export it to Photo AI as a plugin, the desired crop is preserved.
I would greatly appreciate being able to run denoising/sharpening processes in batch mode, though; this will significantly lower my processing time when it works as desired.
Can you send me the original file and the output file for _G7X9445?
You can securely submit your image(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something. Dropbox File Request
I can take a look at what is happening. From the information so far, it seems like the file may have crop metadata that we are reading.
Topaz Photo AI currently should not be reading any crop information at all and I would recommend cropping images after processing in Topaz Photo AI.
We need to redo our crop feature before we can support reading and applying crop from the original image.
Hello,
Yes, I just had the same problem. Using Lightroom Classic. I prefer to crop my photos first for the client to choose their favorites, then do all my intense edits once they have their selections. When batch editing to my finals all the crops were put back to the original out of camera crop. All my other edits remained the same. Do you know when a fix will be done to this? Thank you!
