defaults to 72 dpi , changing to any other dpi setting does not change the output dpi as shown in Photo AI
Please take a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening.

John, a screenshot of what, I told you the exact issue, set the DPI in preferences to anything other than 72dpi, it says it saves it then exports always as 72dpi

It just exports pixels. But not per Inch. The saved metadata are just of a theoretical interest and do refer to the output device, will say: the printer. It does not refer to the image.
Then please explain why this choice exists if it isn’t used, however it doesn’t appear you are actually part of the support team.
This is a users help users forum. I dunno why metadata added to the image that do not refer to the image. But that’s what it is.
