I’ve never tried Avidemux with x265 or AV1 specifically, but trimming long GOP codec video without re-encoding can be fraught with potential issues.
My next suggestion would be LosslessCut, which like TVAI is based around ffmpeg. If that can’t do it, then I doubt TVAI could do it.
