I like the compositions but they lack “je ne sais quoi”.
Suggestions
1 B&W
2 the water course and the banks are the same tone - change one slightly by tone or hue
3 try a large dollop of Clarity on the water course or the banks

I wasn’t saying that they were “incorrect”. I was trying to make more sense of the story which I thought you were trying to tell.
I like the new versions better than the first versions
