Old Salt, Tenmile Lake, OR

Yeah, that’s me there at the helm of our Thistle, way back in the day, being towed to our cabin on Tenmile Lake. The only way to get there was by boat. And with no wind, well, I needed a tow. The Thistle is a great sailboat. It carries a spinnaker and if conditions are right and you know what you are doing you can get it up on a plane. Lots of great memories – like the time Doug, Dave and Gerry fell out of the boat because the hiking strap broke. Whoops!

I painted this after reading an enlightening article by Bev Jozwiak on painting loose with watercolors.
