Have Topaz Video AI, 6.0.1 and being advertised to update to 6.0.3, Topaz Video AI downloaded the packages but no update was started.
Downloaded then the 6.0.2 version, but Apple’s sandbox didn’t allow to start.
Anyway started over the terminal and faced same update-behaviour.
Finally no update possible.
I’ve screenrecorded the behaviour, but your site don’t accept movies. It’s a short one, 470 kB.
Ok, have managed to install the update. Strange to me that I had to download and install 3x the update. Always the same update. Somehow strange.
As next I was surprised that the installation have now 50 GB!
Looked after the directories and found that the models
directory have 47 GB.
After looking for duplicates I found 135 duplicates with 8.4 GB.
Not sure if diff
is accurate here, but if, is it not possible to simply link instead of use duplicates?
You can uninstall the models by using the model manager if you do not want to store them on your system. The app will download the models at the start of each process:
File > Model manager
Thanks for answer but I’m afraid I didn’t express myself right in all details.
I’m very happy to have the models installed, since I’m not always online.
To save storage, linking those models who are identical to just one which is already in place, would make sense.
When the model needed is rendered, an indexed reference on the local drive can indicate that the model exist already, even the name is different and then just a link is created, with the new name in the right structure.
