I have never, nor will I ever grant upload and usage permissions of any kind with my photos. Today’s upgrade installed that feature, and even though I clicked it off… also in preferences, it still pops up as if “how about now?” asking if it can upload my images to Topaz Labs. No means NO.

Thanks for sharing. Image collection is off by default so unless you opt-in to sharing, we will not have permission to access your files.
I agree 100% with Mr Silva. This was a horrible idea and smacks of various free programs that continually remind you to sign up for various enhancements. And then there is the occasional popup that asks that since your are enjoying the program, how about sending us your images. The company assurance that the images won’t be shared outside of the company is worth the paper it is printed on. You know that as well as I do. Leave the option in preferences and please remove it from the general operation in your next upgrade. If I have an issue with an image, I will send it to you. Otherwise, keep it out of the general operation.

I’m looking at purchasing gigapixel, but I too have concerns about privacy/ownership/photographer rights. And Q’s about what permissions I’d be allowing, rights I’d be compromising for the convenience, what backdoors might be built in…
I completely understand the idea that this is AI software and the purpose is perpetual growth. But at what cost to the user and extent?
