when upscaling, especially to a codec with high bitrate, its easy to oversee how much diskspace the resulting file will need. if discspace on the render disk becomes zero, TopazVideo will just stop rendering and deletes everthing done till this moment. after two days of rendering this is
so here are some suggestions to avoid such situations:
- could the app estimate the needed diskspace when rendering starts and give an ‘too less space’-alert ?
- when diskspace gets zero during render: could the app stop rendering, close the file in a way that it the result so far can be used ? +++ and maybe ask to continue on another disk ?
and, one more thing:
usually TopazVideos renders in the same directory as the source. in the preferences one can assign a different render directory. fine. BUT: one never can go bakc to the original behaviour because the render path can’t be deleted, just changed.
this all on mac/M1ultra 5.2.2
