I have both a RTX 3070 and RTX 3090 system. My 3090 system allows me to use the GPU Encoder for the x265 MKV output. The 3070 does not. This has to be an error as, both have said features.
System 1:
Ryzen 9 5950x, 64GB, RTX 3070
System 2:
Ryzen 9 7950x3D, 64GB, RTX 3090
System two allows GPU encoding of output but system one does not.
I tried the settings about using up VRAM with the 3070 in case that was the trouble but no change. Options for GPU encoding simply do not show up on the 3070 system.
You have some kind of driver issue looking at dxdiag.
It’s not seeing GPU memory and a few other things.
Also your first video device is Microsoft Remote Display Adapter.
I suggest you download the lates studio drivers for your card.
Remove that Microsoft Remote Display Adapter from within device manager.
Sorry, never saw that you sent the system profile for some reason. What menditsa stated above is right, the GPU is not being seen correctly and could be a driver issue.
Try the steps they mentioned and share the results of the diagnostics scan and if the Driver update works.
I’m having the same issue. Just upgraded to 5.2.2 and now I no longer have a GPU option. I have followed the suggestions regarding DDU and have wiped my nVidia drivers and reinstalled them completely. I also uninstalled Video AI and did a fresh reinstall. Still no GPU option in the export section. I can select it in preferences and I can see that it’s being partially used by the system but I’ve gone from 1080 upscale speed using Rhea of 17.2 fps to 5.2 fps, and my 3090 isn’t being tasked anywhere near the way it was before.
System profile attached. Hopefully this is a just a simple bug or something I can change on my end. I’m using the latest nVidia studio drives from 6 August 24.
Can you share your logs here or directly with the support team to see what is going on? You can reference this post in the subject line or in the email itself to help fast track it to the Video AI team.
Your system profile looks good and the driver is up to date for the GPU card.

Email sent to the team! I included a few screenshots showing what I’m physically seeing (speed drop, option for 3090ti under preferences but not for export) as well as the logs and the dxdiag.
Looping back to this as I got some clarity from the team.
The GPU selection in the export panel is for choosing between devices when more than 1 device is able to export the selected format. Since you have AMD CPU’s it should show on both systems the choice for AMD and use the CPU’s built in GPU for encoding and encode using NVENC.
Not sure why it is not showing on the 3070 though at this time. Checking with the team on this for more info.
If you are replying to the original poster there was a GPU driver problem.
They have not replied in over 9 days now.
CB_HK has a single GPU and not related to the original topic.
