I just uploaded 5 files to your dropbox. I have the same issue with both Topax Sharpen AI and Topaz Photo AI. It does appear that the background foliage is being modified, but nothing to the actual subject of the photo, the Tricolored Blackbird.

Peter Gordon

Can you ensure that you have the proper Selection option selected? I noticed on the screenshot of the Topaz Photo AI workspace that the Sharpen feature is only using the subject, you may want to change the option to All or adjust the subject mask.

John

I tried “all” option, and again, the surroundings seem to be affected but not the bird. I may not fully understand all of the choices I can make.

Pete Gordon

Thanks for giving that a go, I’ve been working with the image as well and suspect that the bird in this subject is too out of focus for the application to fix this instance completely.

While Topaz Photo AI can significantly improve image quality, starting with a higher-quality original image will yield much better results.

Thank you, John. Sometimes the bird doesn’t stick around long enough for a better picture. At least I know that the software is work8ng, just not on this photo and background.
