Using Gigapixel 8.1 and noticed when I use as a plugin in Lightroom Classic there are no cloud render options or credits showing. When I use Gigapixel stand alone, it works fine with Cloud options showing.
Also when I use Photo AI I’m noticing the grid effect when increasing shadows slider in LR. I looked on your help site and camera compatibility may be the problem. I have a Canon R5 mk II and don’t see it in your link of supported cameras.
I’m sad to see that Cloud Rendering is also not available in GigaPixel. This is ludicrous for a revenue-focused company like Topaz that decimates user workflow and limits their own profits.
That doesn’t help at all. Considering it is the same identical application that runs, that makes no sense. It decimates workflow, and reduces Topaz’ revenues… why would choose to do it that way?
This is expected behaviour and the difference is Lightroom is the host application and there might be technical reasons why you’re unable to do Cloud Rendering within Gigapixel as a Lightroom Plug-in.
I’m only guessing but, it could be because, you are only sending your image to Gigapixel AI temporary, applying enhancements before returning back to Lightroom.
In this instance, it’s probably best, to think of Gigapixel as a filter not Gigapixel as the standalone application.
Thing’s may change in the future only Topaz can answer that.
Besides, you are only decimating your own workflow because, in who’s world would it be beneficial to interrupt your workflow by sending a file to an external application Gigapixel from within a host application Lightroom.
Selecting the Redefine Enhancement, applying Cloud Rendering then just sit there waiting for the cloud rendering to process
You have effectively, locked yourself out of both Gigapixel and Lightroom unable use either, while you’re waiting for the rendering to finish and certainly isn’t the best way to use your time the most efficiently.
Cloud Rendering is quicker granted however, not quick enough if you have several images at once to render
In light of all this, it would make more sense to use both Gigapixel and Lightroom as separate applications.
For example, start rendering one image within the Standalone version of Gigapixel, while you can continue working with Lightroom or Photoshop on another image
