Newbie Question

Hi all…

I am looking to upscale an old TV series from 2005. I just tried the demo version of TP AI and it seems to do a very good job up to FHD. However the rendered file has no sound… Any ideas before I hit subscribe? Also any way to speed it up?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi welcome,

Try “convert” under codec settings

If audio is DTS, then you must go another way because of license rights they can’t support that.

It sounds like the audio mode might have gotten swapped or not set correctly.

If you would like to send the logs from the app to the support team directly, we can take a look and see what happened. help@topazlabs.com

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Here is a video to help with the steps of how to collect the logs.

As Mayday mentioned, you can check in the app and set the audio mode to convert and it should then attach the audio and convert it to a format to match and be compatible with the output container.

Thank you I have done this…

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply. I had already tried this as I had seen it on reddit.

I am not sure if the audio track attached is DTS… I will have to try and find out.

Thanks again.

I’ve not tried the “convert” audio option I didn’t know it existed, but when this has happened to me, I have found converting the video to another format fixes it. I use the Prism Video Converter, which is subscription based :frowning: You can probably do the same thing with free software like Handbrake.

You can see inside every videofile which video+audio codec is used and you get a lot more infos with MediaInfo Tool. When it’s installed, open program switch view to “html” and close it. Then right click on any Videofile and choose “MediaInfo” from the menu
