New versions are slower than the old versions

I was using topaz 2.6.4 until a month ago, when i switched over to the version that was available back than (cant remember what but i’m now on 2.5.0 as its the most stable one for me at the moment). And since using the new version, i have noticed the newer program is like twice as slow in encoding. The file i used in 2.50, it would have taken me 2 hours to render, with the older version, just 32 minutes! And this was from a file that is 720x480 upscaled to just 1920x1080p.

With a few updates Topaz stated they made the models or the program faster, so how come for me the encoding time has doubled?

  1. Encoding takes twice as long
  2. Radeon RX 5700xt, AMD Ryzen 2700x, 32 gig ram. (latest graphic drivers)
  3. 2023-10-10-18-23-44-Main.tzlog (351.1 KB)

Log file of the progress. I tried with limited power, and full power, only made a minute in difference.

Hello,

Video Enhance AI and Video AI use different back-end systems to decode, process, and re-encode videos. Comparing performance between the two depends on many other factors including disk speed. GPU decoding performance, and available memory.

Would it be possible to get a log from the same task run in version 2.5.0?

Here they are:
logsForSupport.zip (342.7 KB)

These are from 3.5.0, are you comparing this version’s speed to 2.6.4 or 2.5.0? thanks!

Yeah, that was a typo in the first message, version 3 is slower than version 2 is what i basically mean. (should not have made that message when i was tired!)
