[NDIVIA RTX 5000 series] - Sharpening "Standard" issues on this new NVIDIA card

When program sharpens image, the picture is weird full of different colors. Even saves that way.
Please advise.

  1. Do you have an example?
  2. try sharpen „strong“. there were some issues in the past with bw images getting all kind of strange moire like Colour artifacts with the sharpening models that were not there when using the strong model.

@gregory.loflin - We are looking into optimizations for this new RTX 5080 card you have. For now issues seem to occur on Sharpen Standard. Test Strong. If it works you can force Strong to be the model to be used, in Preferences > Sharpen.

If you need to use that specific enhancement, test forcing the CPU to process in Edit > Preferences > General > AI Processor > CPU. Click save and retest.

I will try it out.

--------Same problem with my MSI Vanguard RTX 5080. Setting sharpening preference to “strong” appears to have worked in my case.

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE:

  • Give as many details as you can on the issue you are experimenting.
  • Workflow steps you do, if using the standalone or plugin. File Type used is RAW or JPEG?*

Yes Strong is to use for now, which you can force as the default model to be used in Edit > Preferences. Our development team is looking into the issue with Standard and we will circle back here once resolved!

Hi there, I’ve got some issues with some of the options on sharpen and denoise. The final result giving me some weird colors when i use strong denoise or standard sharpening. please find attached the photos.

I’m also getting the exact issue on any image I use making the program unusable now.
Even the pop up menus have large blank black areas too hiding all the text.
Is this an issue with the 5090 GPU that I’m using?

Hi.

These are two different issues

The first is probably related to the GPU and the second is a Windows update conflict which is being investigated

@angelos.alexandrou and @mattcole2008 - adding you here as the issues you are flagging will occur on the new RTX 5000 series card you have, and will occur on Sharpen Standard only. For now, use Sharpen Strong, which you can force as the default model to be used in Edit > Preferences. Our development team is looking into the issue with Standard and we will circle back here once resolved!
