[Native RAW files white balance issue] - Auto white balance is incorrect on native files, but OK on DNG copy

When I export a Nikon Z6 III raw file from Capture One Pro to Photo AI and export it back again in Capture One Pro, the white balance is weird, it has some strange numbers : like Kelvin 9300 and Nuance 49.8. So much so that I can’t edit my pictures without having strange colours, way too green or way too red. It doesn’t look like my original file and preset at all.
It only happens with my Nikon Z6 III files and not my Nikon D780. I use a Windows computer.
How can it be solved ?

Hello,

Can you share one original RAW file that is giving you issues so we can test on our end? We don’t have any ongoing issues with this camera.

Also, what version of Photo AI are you using?

Thanks

Here’s the raw file.
DSC_4616.NEF (29.0 MB)

I’m using the latest version of Capture One Pro (16.6.4.3044) with Topaz Photo 4.0.2 on Windows 11 (latest update). The issue appears both on my laptop and my desktop and only with Z6 III raw files (not D780 ones).

Hello,

Thank you for sending the file. I tested on my end, and I was able to reproduce the issue.

Workaround
While we investigate this issue, you can convert the original NEF files to DNGs.

Then you can import these DNGs in Capture One and send to Photo AI. The white balance is a lot more accurate that way.

We will write on this thread if we have more questions and if a fix is released.

Thanks

Ok, thank you for your answer. I’ll try that.

Best regards,
