MS Remote Desktop Connection closing causes Video AI stop

[If you are posting a new bug, please include the following]

  1. I use MS Remote Desktop connection to start a session on a computer in another room. When I disconnect and return to check on it, Video AI is no longer shown as running in the Taskbar. If I load Video AI and display Output Queue, after a few seconds, it starts processing the two videos again but it shows double the processing time estimate and the fps shown is half what it was. A program started via Remote Desktop Connection should continue to function normally when disconnected and when reconnected later.

The logs show that the first attempt there seems to be some corruption with a packet from the file and displaying a NAL unit size.

The second process looks to be using the Auto setting for the AI Processor instead of the GPU which could account for the slower processing rates.

File>Preferences>Processing

Set the AI Processor to use the GPU and try it again locally to see if that processes more in line with expectations.

Not sure what is going on with the Remote desktop, will check with the team to see if when you shut down the connection its closing the app as well.

Might not be relevant, but I use the CLI of TVAI over Microsoft RDC all the time. There have not been issues with it since like version 3.2.
