Memory leak topaz ai, last 2 years unresolved

topaz ai…
v3.2 and many before that
windows 10 and 11

load a bunch of images, say more than 100, apply few effects, denoise, sharpen, color balance and lightning adjust…

let them export…

open your memory monitor and see what happens

every photo processed grabs more ram, i have 64 gigs and after a while app crashes as it takes 100% of ram…

this problem has been present for years, i see there were many complaints, but these experts at topaz labs cant figure it out still, and falsely report the problem as solved

I’d like to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.

Could you send us your computer’s full system profile?

Also if you can, please try to recreate this memory in Topaz Photo AI, then go to Help > Open Log Folder, please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.

If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

Dropbox File Request

2024-11-03-12-05-21.tzlog (25.1 MB)
DxDiag.txt (139.9 KB)

uploaded log file as well as dxdiag

Thanks for sending in that information.

I want to see if updating your GPU driver will resolve the problem, as there is a more up-to-date driver that has been released.

Please use the following link to update your driver:

After the update, let me know if you are still experiencing the problem.

each minute eats more ram

every new photo processed adds memory usage

even blindfolded would know your app holds memory which should be released after each process

this is after the driver update of course

closing the topaz photo ai releases all the ram

Thanks for sharing these screenshots and information. To help the team investigate this further could you send in all the logs you find in Help > Open Log Folder? You can use the Dropbox link above in this forum thread to send those files in, please be sure to let me know if you decide to send anything over.

i uploaded logs

Thanks for sending those files in, I have forwarded this information to the developers and will be sure to reach back out to you once I have more information.

See my reply to your other post here.

i have done as you suggested and ran that scan in command prompt… i can confirm the issue remain

Do you actually own a legal copy of Topaz Video and Photo ?

To me it shows you are using pirated software ?

Hello, I purchased the software a couple of months ago and used it a few times then and really need it now for my products and business. I wish I was within the refund window because I’m having the same issue here and despite reading on other posts that it has been supposedly fixed by updates or what not…
the product is unusable…
I’m not sure if the other user is a pirate or what but you guys can look at my account or whatever and see that I’m not so it remains on valid copies…

If you are still experiencing problems please send us an email at help@topazlabs.com
