Memorial to Navajo code talkers

During WW2 the Japanese were adept at breaking the US codes so Navajo soldiers were used to talk on the radio to relay important information. The Japanese were never able to understand them.
My dad (died in 1999) was a chief Army radio operator in the Philippines during the conflict. I often wondered if he used the code talkers.
