Masking for Sharpen in Photo AI

I might be missing something, but there has to be a better way to mask for sharpening.
It always tries to select people - I need it to select the dogs in the photo, not people. It’s become very time consuming to deselect the people and select the dog. And the masking, even on the smallest brush setting, ends up getting pixels/colors around the dog - even when they aren’t the same color.

I’m getting very frustrated in the amount of time this takes. Why isn’t there a brush to brush over a subject and AI looks at where I’ve brushed over and selects the subject? How do I turn off the auto mask? Is that even possible?

Thank you

Select Custom and Object selection and you can add the details you want to sharpen. The tool is sensitive and you can also experiment with the feathering:

Thanks! This is working better. Still have to use a brush to remove what it did select and then go in and select an object and then go back in with a brush to add in the places it’s missed. Still more time consuming than it should be. But when you end up in low lit places these extra noise remove and sharpening help.

Thanks again!
