In many cases, its not necessary to store 16Bit RGB TIF, but rather 4:2:0 10 Bit or something else. Instead of offering “PNG, TIF, TIF16”, why not make a select Box where RGB/gray/YUY, etc… can be selected…
the same applies for the compression. With PNG, the ratio could be set and with TIF, ZLIP, etc… could be an option…
In some usecases (lets say a modern digitally produced cartoon like family guy), it could make a BIG difference in the amount of space needed to store the files…
When we use input TIFF Uncompressed 16bit RGB, in case the engine will needs to know some more details to work better, add option to the settings to define the colorspace/gamma/levels the TIFF are using.
