Low quality video enhanced with odd lines across frames

I am trying to enhance very low quality video (admittedly borrowing my friend’s MacBook which includes version 3 of TVAI until I figure out if the software is suited for my needs). I tried to run a 4x enhance upscale using the auto settings and was presented with a result that had what, in photo terms, might be called banding or “lines” across the footage.

Here is the original footage: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Apw7noQcna_q099qdkgSaCy42SkFSA?e=cyesgG
Here is the TVAI enhanced footage: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Apw7noQcna_q099u36gzOlyEZldnbA?e=B5B5gW

Can someone please help me improve the TVAI footage to reduce the banding and generally clean up the image? I am mainly a photographer and am an avid user of TPAI but must admit I am a bit lost when it comes to TVAI and video. Many, many thanks in advance.

Just taking a look at the TVAI footage, it appears the lines are most prevalent when there is some sort of motion on screen. The lines look like digital artifacts of some sort and are not present, at least not to the same degree, in the original footage. Again, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Your source is interlaced. Run the enhancement with deinterlacing.

Sorry for the rookie question, but how do I do that? In the trial for TVAI 5, I see Video Type: Progressive, Interlaced, and Interlaced prog. (my setting is on Progressive) but I don’t see any option to “deinterlace”. Thanks so much for your quick reply.

Change Progressive to Interlaced.
