Lightroom Classic plugin for Topaz Photo AI: Error running model

When I try to open a RAW (NEF) image using the Lightroom Classic plugin (according to the article titled “The Recommended RAW Workflow in Lightroom Classic for Topaz Photo AI” on the Topaz Labs website), the file opens in Topaz Photo AI, but when Photo AI tries to automatically apply denoise and sharpening, I get a “Error running model” message. This happens with any photos I try, no matter how many times I try.

However, if I try opening the same file directly in Photo AI, it works, and I can apply my edits and save. If I try to do it from Lightroom Classic first, using the plugin, it doesn’t work.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Open RAW image in Lightroom Classic
  2. Select image and click File > Plug-in Extras > Process with Topaz Photo AI
  3. Once image opens in Photo AI, wait for edits to be applied and receive “Error running model” message

Topaz Photo AI v1.5.1 on Windows

@albusequitatus It looks like you’er missing some model files.

Are you using a Mac or Windows device?

First, please disable antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy that may be on your computer. These are known to block the installer from downloading the model files.

Then download a new Topaz Photo AI installer from here:
https://topazlabs.com/downloads/

Run it and check if you see the errors again.
