Apple M3 Ultra 28 CPU, 60 GPU. The preview and final render result is a gray background. With Creativity settings: 3 and above. Is this normal?
This is a known issue that we are currently working on.
We suspect it’s related to how large the input image is. Can you try to resize the photo to 1024px on its longest side and see if it still happens?
Unfortunately it doesn’t work after changing the resolution. I’m sending the .tzlog file

I’ve been waiting for a FIX and stuck using 8.0.2. I wish it would get fixed soon, I really love using this Redefine to some super cool results! Some creepy too. LOL…just patiently waiting…
Using Gigapixel 8.4.1 on a Mac Studio (M3 Ultra, 96 GB unified memory), the Redefine Creative model consistently fails to render previews and full exports. Local processing produces a solid gray output, or the application becomes stuck mid-render with no error.
This issue occurs under the following conditions:
• Input image: 813×544 JPG, sRGB
• Upscale: 4× (final output: 3252×2176)
• Creativity level: Low
• Texture: Default (3)
• File is stored locally (not on a network drive)
• AI Processor: Apple M3 Ultra selected manually (not Auto)
• Redefine Realistic and Standard models work without issue
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open image in Gigapixel 8.4.1
2. Select Redefine Creative model, 4× upscale, Low creativity
3. Click preview or export
4. Output is a flat gray swatch, or processing freezes
Expected behavior:
Preview and export should generate enhanced imagery. Instead, the result is an unusable output.
Attached: screenshot of gray preview window, test input file, and export settings.
You forgot to actually attach those…
Can someone update on the greyed out previewing and rendering on Redefne Creative please. Purchased this product specifically to use this feature locally and it appears broken. Using Mac M3 Ultra. Latest version of Gigapixel.
Any ideas when there’ll be a fix and if there’s a current workaround?
Bump. I have this issue also. Bought this application specifically to use this feature.
Can Topaz team please update
No Fix. It’s been broken since 8.0.3. and no hint of it ever going to be fixed at all. Thus I don’t plan on renewing my license.
Hello!
For affected users, please report:
Are you running macOS 15.5?
Are you running Gigapixel v8.4.2?
If you can answer YES to both, please attempt the following to troubleshoot:
Delete CoreML Cache Folder
The steps in the video apply to all our apps
Important: Use the path with the tilde sign, like this one ~/Library/Application Support
- Make sure to use the ~ sign to reach the right path
- The correct Application Support destination stems from your User folder
- Empty the trash and restart the computer
Please report on results from the above steps and share which M-series chip you have. ![]()
