Confusing update Video IA 5.3.0! I’m actually constantly playing different video formats. I now have to change these mp4, H264, mov, etc. every time in the settings via the menu bar. Extremely complicated. It used to be much better in the window at the bottom right of the interface! It would be more important when choosing: play out > ProRes > to automatically specify 422HQ first and not 422Proxy! Who should play out a proxy here?
I agree on the position of the Codec
Now you have to down / up / down to launch stg
We all know that codec is tha last thing touched before engaging coding, so getting it close “Export AS” was fine, doesn’t it ?
Fast export is a kinda button “OK record my stuff at random place !”
I think Fast Export is just going to use whatever export settings you have as the default in Preferences.
Sure it is ! Elsecase it is another useless gadget, but you have to be very organized to use it, else you will accumulate all the stuff in the same directory.

I allready fill a RAID5 dir. with a single FFV1 output
So, fast export somehow replace preview, on a good way, preview is no more killed
That’s exactly what I do. I have my preferences set to export everything to a single export directory. It’s on a 1TB SSD where I also have directories for my models, projects and temp files.
Previews seem to be working ok here. What problem are you having?
I click on it out of habit of having to modify the codec there.
