While attempting to update Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel AI to version 8 (current v8.1.0)
I encountered an error message stating:
“Your CPU must support AVX instructions to install this program”
However, my system specifications are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700K
Instruction Set Support: AVX
Motherboard: PRO Z790-A WIFI DDR4 (MS-7E07) v1.H0
BIOS: AVX (Auto)
OS: Windows 10 Pro

For anyone having this error message: “Your CPU must support AVX instructions to install this program”
First step is to make sure your computer has AVX instructions.
If you already had Photo AI on your computer and you are just updating version, then this confirms you have AVX instructions, you can follow the steps in the next section.
If you never had Photo AI installed on this computer, send us your System Profile at support@topazlabs.com and we can confirm: How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)
Example: Snapdragon machines do not have AVX instructions. We are working on supporting Snapdragon Processors in the near-future.

The two most common reasons for this error are a compatibility conflict with your CPU or your current version of Windows 10 is not the latest build.
Check that you have installed the latest updates from Microsoft.
If the error continues to appear, share your system profile in a message to help@topazlabs.com for further troubleshooting.
