Impossible to select network folder as default export folder in 5.4.0

Hi all,

Using version 5.4.0 on Windows 10 here.

As the title says it’s impossible in version 5.4.0 to select a network folder as a default export folder under “Preferences > Default Settings > Export Folder”

This has been an issue for a while happening in some versions but for 5.4.0 I haven’t found any workaround except using “Export As” but it’s a pain when working in batches.

I remember in 4.1.0 that when selecting a network folder it would add “file:” in front of the selected path making it fail the selection. By deleting this “file:” everything would work fine so maybe than can be of any help to you. The bug is maybe the same since 4.1.0 but now the path is not accessible so it’s impossible to remove this potential “file:”

Thanks

As a work-around, use Windows to map a drive letter (e.g. Z:) to the required network folder. I’ve just tried and it exports fine to the network folder by default. However, the TVAI UI doesn’t display the network drive, so still a bug there. But I see it’s stored correctly in the Windows Registry:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI

outputFolder is correctly set to Z:\

However, I just discovered another bug where the only way to get it back to “.” (i.e. same as input folder) is to modify the registry directly!
