Frustrating! I have been trying to install my extensive library of Topaz plug-ins to Photoshop 2024 with zero success. That old “unable to verify etc., etc.,” message keeps popping up and telling me to contact the developer. I have written Topaz support but never got a reply. Can someone please tell me how to fix this, or my collection and $$$ are down the drain. Should I download ALL the apps/plugins again? (I’ll be here all day) and has Topaz updated all these apps to comply with Apple’s regulations? Really missing them. I don’t want to use them as stand alone apps, I want to be able to access them through PS as I have always done.
Steps to reproduce issue:
Step 1 Attempt to install package.
Step 2 Message received - “topazTextureEffects_install.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
After you have done this, disable any antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy software that might be active on your computer. These tools are sometimes known to interfere with the installer’s ability to download the model files.
Please also ensure that the Topaz Photo AI installer has all the proper settings in your system by going to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security tab and scrolling down to the security section. You will want to make sure you have 'App Store and identified developers ’ selected. Here is a video example:
Thank you so much for responding. My problem though is not in installing the apps, but I am actually referring to my legacy “plugins” not DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI which are the only ones that show up when I open PS > Filters > Topaz Labs, but Adjust, Detail, Simplify, Clean, DeJpeg, Lens Effects, Star Effects, Restyle, Clarity, B&W Effects, Glow and Texture Effects and which previously showed up in PS under the filters menu. I can still open Studio as a stand alone as well. It’s a bloody nuisance (pardon the language) to have to open the app and then save the image and open again in PS instead of being able to work on it through the plugin and then return directly to PS. Maybe there is something I am missing & why I am unable to do that with the stand alones, but it makes sense to me that you cannot return to something you never left in the first place… right? I loved all my old plugins and don’t see why I should have to give them up? Hey! I still have a landline. Love that too.
Im wanting to know as well. I loved Lens Effects and used it daily in my opinion it one of the best apps they have produced yet since upgrading PS and to a Mac Mini I am having the same issue and I was told they don’t support it anymore. It’s heartbreaking it was such an essential part of my workflow
You would think we would still be able to at least use the legacy version. It does not seem fair. Sigh… sadly in the world in which we live, it’s all about $$$$. And not saying $$ is not comforting, but there has to be a balance between profits and customer/client loyalty.
I have pretty much given up on Topaz, and which I really loved. Gone to BorixFX now and Kelvin Designs. No time for a company that can’t even respond to a support question about items that you paid for, and I paid for many!!!
Hi, please forgive me if I’m barking up the wrong tree
But, I don’t think Topaz is at fault here the fault is with Adobe.
Because I’m experiencing a similar problem with some of my older plug-ins which, I still love to use.
For instance Google’s version of the Nik Collection plug-in, unfortunately no longer works the latest version of Photoshop, its because Adobe has changed the way Photoshop handles plug-ins.
Basically Photoshop has moved on
There is a workaround
The good news is Adobe allows you to keep more than one version of Photoshop on your computer fortunately, I still have my original copy of Photoshop CS6 which I keep installed just for older plug-ins.
If you don’t have copy of Photoshop CS6 perhaps you could obtain one from somewhere
