This has been persistent in V5. I first reported in the Beta thread several months ago, then in Live and then left the program for the last few months to see if it would resolve and as of last week, still no fixes.
Currently, importing image sequences into the application almost always end up with some form of hang or crash to desktop.
- Initial import shows a blank screen, no indication of anything happening.
- Blank screen can last from indefinite (even after being left for hours) to just a few minutes.
- Any attempt to take any action on the sequence whilst in the state of blank screen - including removing the sequence from the input - will immediately crash the application to desktop with no error.
- On some occasions, application simply hangs and you have to force close it.
- When it does this, it tries to open the same sequence on restart, and can get into a crash loop where you cannot remove the sequence without crashing and crashing reimports the input. Manual deletion of the project files is required to go back to blank state.
- On the occasions where it does successfully load, the image sequence has the wrong in/out locations and has to be manually adjusted.
- This has happened consistently on every V5 of this application, making it almost impossible to actually use the application on the current major release going on a few months now, both the Live releases, Beta’s and Alphas.
- Occasionally, when it does successfully import I can test somewhat, but as soon as I export anything, the frame sequence numbers are garbled for all future exports and the application has to be re-started to fix it, which often restarts the above issues.
