I can’t uninstall Video AI alpha, I can’t launch the Regular Topaz video ai 5.3.2, the shortcut in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Topaz Video AI

If I go directly in the C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI folder, I can launch it from there.

but I can’t uninstall it from the Add/Remove programs of Windows

If you are on Windows 10 you could try this:

I’ll try that.

It says it fixed something, but now I only have the regular Topaz Video AI in the program list I can uninstall, Topaz Video AI Alpha.

In the folder C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI ALPHA, I only see the exe file, no other files, and empty folders.

Does it mean that I can delete the whole Topaz Video AI ALPHA safely now?

Do you still have the Alpha build MSI installer file? If so, try right clicking on that to select the uninstall option as that should clear it from your system.

Have heard of some users also using the 10Bit uninstaller app to clear previous installs that were proving difficult at times.

I downloaded it again and tried the uninstall from here, and repair too, it didn’t work.

I used the MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta method, I don’t know what it did, I dnu’t have the Alpha in the list of installed program, and all the files are gone in the C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI ALPHA folder, except the Topaz Video AI Alpha exe file.

I guess the tool did something, but now I don’t know if I can just delete these empty folders

The main thing is are you now able to install and uninstall?

Any leftover remnants of the alpha installation should be ok to delete.

Ok I’ll just delete the “C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI ALPHA” folder (which contain the other folders, but all the files are pretty much gone). I guess the Microsoft tool delete them.

I’ll try to use it on the regular Topaz Video AI install to, so I start clean again.

The shortcut for it in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Topaz Video AI gives me an error, but I can launch Video AI directly from “C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI\Topaz Video AI.exe”

I would recommend only using the Microsoft tool if the normal uninstall method through the Windows Settings/Control Panel doesn’t work.

This Microsoft tool seems to work pretty well.
I’ll keep it because I have other years old software I couldn’t uninstall in the past, and I just left them.
